Aunt Lou here.

We are bargain hunters in this house.

We hit the motherload a year ago Thanksgiving. And Michael still looks for those wonderful “Manager’s Special” stickers every time he is in Ruler. (Seriously, it takes the man 30 minutes to go buy three things because he is looking for that awesome deal!)

I always know when Michael has found a great deal. He will be at Ruler and my phone will ring. He will then tell me about the deal he has found that is “too good to pass up!” This week he found a 9.72 lb pork roast for $9. It was originally $19! Think of a slightly deflated basketball and that is the size of this thing.

He brought it home, and I took one look at it and started laughing. All I could think is, “What in the WORLD am I going to do with this hunk o’ pork?!”

And better yet, it was on special because it was close to its expiration date. So I had to find some recipes and quick!

The original recipe for this Crock Pot Easy Pork Roast called for two slices of bacon halved, but we love us some bacon around here. So I figured we just skip the halving of the bacon and do four slices…and it was awesome!

Now I know that it seems weird that there is milk in this recipe, but it is so delicious that I’m not questioning it anymore! Yum!

Michael took our hunk o’ pork and cut it into three roasts. We also made this Crock Pot Garlic Pork Roast and Crock Pot Pulled Pork Roast. If you have extra (like we most definitely did!), put your leftovers in a container and throw it in the freezer to reheat for later!

Slow Cooker Recommendation

I had to have all three of my big crock pots going at once and this Crock Pot Easy Pork Roast just so happen to be cooked up in my beloved Hamilton BeachProgrammable Insulated Slow Cooker. Any ol’ 6 quart slow cooker do though.
