Thanks to Beth Silaika of Freckled Fun Designs for the new banner! Working with Beth on the design was an interactive process that Beth makes so easy! If you are looking to get a banner or watermark designed I would highly recommend her. I hope you enjoy the new look!

Stampin Up sent all of the demos a free stamp set. Who doesn't love free rubber? Especially if it is as cute as this set. It is from the new catalog coming out in January and is a Level 3 Hostess Gift. It is called Time Well Spent and I just love it! I played with it all one day a couple of days ago. So now you know why I haven't posted much, I have been too busy playing.....

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Nov. 25, 07

Sorry for the long delay in posting but I have been extremely busy. I do have several projects to share with you. I was waiting for the weather to be sunny to take photos but looking at the weather report I don't think is happening soon.

I was playing with the free Level 3 stamp set that Stampin Up sent all of the demos and had the best time with it. I did 4 cards and a holder for all of them for a demo hostess group that starts the first of the year. I've also made a bunch of cute candy bar snowmen to give out at my book club later in the month. For once I am done way ahead of time. I also made a box for reindeer noses. What's that you say?

The candies are a sour cherry candy that my husband loves. I can only find them at Home Goods, I'm sure they are available other places, I just don't know about it. The Reindeer Label was made on the computer. The tag, saying and tree were made using the Punch Pals Stamp set. The papers used were from Stampin Up!

Aren't these cute? They are just big enough to hold a snack size candy bar. You need a 3 x 3 1/2 inch of white cardstock. You also there punches: square punch, corner rounder punch, flower punch and a circle punch. The other supplies needed are pixie pink ink, daubers, ribbon, rhinestones and a white pen. Buy any SU punch from me this month and I will send you detailed directions on how to make these.

Christmas Candy Tin

Nov. 12, 07

I made this the other night. It started with the bow made of Evergreen DP and silver bells made out of some scraps I had in my scrap box. After I got the bow done I decided why not cover a tin to match. Again I used Evergreen DP over a gold tin. A few days before I had made a few tags and it just happened to be stamped and embossed in Artichoke. It all came together quite easily for something I hadn't planned to make when I started. I love those kinds of projects, plus I have a cute tin now made for candy or cookies.

I used the crimper on the bow to make a few tassels for it. They were glued in the bow. I'm going to be making a few more of these. There is also a ribbon around the rim on the top which does not show up in this picture.

If you have some old tins sitting around this would be a perfect way to decorate them. You could spray paint them first if they have a design on them.

Horses and Flowers

Nov. 12, 07

I have a special young lady in my life who loves horses. She has from the time she born I think. She turned 7 yesterday and wanted a horse cake with flowers. I sat down to do her card with the Wanted Stamp set that I ordered because of her to make her card. Luckily in my paper stash I had some retired Paper Flowers For You Designer Paper. Here's the picture of the card. Now I haven't seen a purely pomegranate horse before but it worked on this card. Happy Birthday Tori!

6 x 6 Winter Bright Recipe Page

Nov. 2, 07

I made a bunch of these recipe pages using the Winter Bright Scrapbook package along with about a dozen cards. I was trying to see how much of the kit I would use. So far, I've used less than half, maybe a third. I also still have lots of the accessory pieces that come with it.

This is my favorite peanut brittle recipe, I've made it for more than 30 years. You'll find the recipe here.

Here is how I did this page. I cut a 6 x 6 piece of background paper from the kit. The textured green CS is 4 3/8 x 4 3/8. The red is 4 1/8 x 4 1/8. The white with the recipe on it was printed on my laser printer and then cut out to be 3 3/4 x 3 3/4. Your measurements will depend on your recipe. If I can ever get the PDF software I bought to work on my computer I will post my peanut brittle recipe formatted here.

Then I stamped the tree from the Season of Joy stamp set from the holiday mini catalog. I embossed it with clear, cut it out and decorated it with colored rhinestones.

The Merry Christmas and stars are from the kit also. The colors are not as good as they should be in the picture but it was the best I could get. This is a very cute page when you see it in my book.
