Shoebox Swap

March 31, 09

Just where does the time go? It seems I never get caught up these days.

A couple of days ago I held a shoebox swap and we had 11 attending and one absentee because she was in Hawaii. She did send us a cute fishy card to make. We had lunch and then started stamping, then we had some dinner and stamped some more. We had a lot of fun and laughs!

Isn't it darling? It was designed by my upline, Joann Wiemers.

So I promised to start to sharing some of the class cards with you. Here are a couple of them. I really like this bird stamp and have used it quite a bit since getting it.

This card uses the Good Friend Stamp set and the Good Morning Sunshine designer paper.

This card uses the Garden Greetings Stamp set and the new designer paper in the upcoming Mini Catalog, Walk in the Park.

I'm Back

March 11, 09

I just spent a wonderful week going to visit my mom and also stamping with Michelle Zindorf (post below). It also seems that I did a lot of shopping. I visited quite a few scrapbook shops along the way. I put all of the bags in my stamping room and am not quite sure where to put it all.

I do have a few cards to share with you, they are SAB cards from a swap I was in with a few friends.

I've Been Zindorfed!

March 11, 09

I had the best day stamping last week. I took private lessons from Michelle Zindorf in her home in Ohio on my way to visit my mom. I took both her beginner and advanced class. If you ever have the chance to take these classes from her just do it! You will be so happy you did. Be prepared to have very inky fingers! I don't think I had ever had so much ink on me, it was worth it however... Michelle is a wonderful teacher and is so easy to learn from. Not only did we stamp all day we went to a great Tea Room in the town where she lives. Be sure to save room for dessert, they are excellent. We did 6 cards and I will share just one of them with you. You will be seeing more brayerd cards in the future here. I love the possibilities this technique opens the door to. This card is one of my favorites.

I was lucky enough to get all of the samples Michelle made that day, all of them signed by her. I am going to look for a frame for them to decorate my stamp room. After we finished stamping I got to peruse through some of the retired SU stamps Michelle is selling and brought a few home with me. It was a great day!

Retro Bird

March 3, 09

I love all of our bird stamps in the new catalog. This card however uses our die cut birds and I covered it with the new Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP. The texture and colors of these papers is fantastic!

Can you see the texture on the bird? I used our glue stick to adhere the paper to the chipboard.

I am so excited, I leave in the morning to go spend a week with my mom. On the way I am taking a day of classes from no other than Michelle Zindorf! Can you believe it? I have so been looking forward to this day since we arranged it a few weeks ago.

Because I am going to be gone and not posting I am going to share a couple more cards with you.

This is one of those cards that does not photograph well, blame it on the Vellum, I guess. It also doesn't help that I took the picture at night.  Remember last week when I said I was doing a SAB swap, this is my card I did. I think everyone has their card now. It is a very pretty card in real life. I used Bordering Blue, and the background was stamped and embossed with Bella Toile.

This is another card from Joann's class I took a couple of weeks ago and uses one of my favorite stamps, Upsy Daisy.

See you all next week, I am taking a bunch of stuff with me so I will come back with projects to post.

It's For the Birds

March 1, 09

I just finished my project of the month. I don't have a clue why I wait so long to do it. I can just never make up my mind what to do! I hope you enjoy it and have fun making it.

We woke up this morning to snow on the ground! This is the first time in the almost 3 years we have been here I have seen it stick to the ground. It was all gone by 11 however. It is a beautiful but windy sunny day here. I hope you are enjoying your Sunday afternoon!

Sizzix Daisy Card

March 1, 09

I went to my friend Kathi's house and we stamped all day the other day. We had the best time! We got several projects done I would like to share with you. The first is a daisy card made with the Sizzix. I still have to stamp the greeting, I will wait and see what I use it for. Kathi stamped hers with a Welcome Baby for a friend that is having a baby soon. The greeting goes on the white band.

The next card was totally cased from SCS. I just love it! We decided because of the thickness of it that it would make a great bag tag or the decoration on the front of the bag. I bought a couple of frames yesterday and am going to make the flowers and put them in a shadow box frame. I'll show you when I finish what I came up with.

Project: Geranium Card
Paper: Regal Rose, Pretty In Pink, Pink Pirouette, Delicate Dots DSP, More Mustard
Ink: Certainly Celery, Pretty In Pink
Stamp Set: Petals Pizzaz for the leaves
Accessories: Scallop Punch
