Groovy From the Garden

June 30, 08

Groovy Guava is one of the In Colors I am going to be sad to see retire. Talking about retiring, this stamp set is retiring also. I really like this way of using it. I saw the circles punched out on another site and can't remember who it was. It is a easy card to do and so summery!

I spent a few hours yesterday working on next months project. It is going to be a great gift for anyone, especially for Christmas! Grandma's will love it. So be sure to check back to see it with the instructions to make it. I am surprised I could even do it. Lola was at my feet most of the day unless she was in lap. We took her to get spayed on Thursday and picked her up Friday. I was asked to post her picture so here it is, she needs a haircut!

You're Invited!

June 24, 08

It's time for the Fourth of July party! Can you believe it is right around the corner? This is another Stamp Camp project we did. The invitation is just one piece of cardstock and does not open. It is cute and easy to do. The votive holder came from the dollar store, we tied a piece of ribbon around it and punched 2 stars with the large punch and used the Independence Day Stamp set to stamp the center piece and punched it out with a 1 inch punch. Tie the ribbon thru the center.

Star Card and Pixie Stick Centerpiece

June23, 08

I was on vacation all of last week visiting with my friends from high school. We go someone every year for a week and have the best time. I got there the day before the retired list came out and I want to tell you trying to read the retired list from a Blackberry was no fun! If you want to see the retired list, CLICK HERE. If there is anything you'd like on the retired list, contact me and I will give you a 10% discount off of your entire order. I only want 2 sets that are retiring is the good news, one of them being Noble Deer. It has been around forever and I just kept putting it off. I can't wait to see the new catalog that they will be giving us at Convention!

I even took a box of stamping stuff intending to work on convention swaps and realized I had forgotten my embossing gun after I got there. So instead of something new, I will show you the star card and pixie stick centerpiece we did at Stamp Camp. Christy designed both of these projects and they were fun to do. You could do the star centerpiece for the Fourth of July!

Kathi's Riot of Petals Card

June 11, 08

My friend Kathi did this card for our Stamp Camp. I just love this technique.

You are going to punch out the center of the flower. Cut a slightly larger hole in the main card. Color in the circle. Attach in opening with adhesive. We also did a trivet with this background stamp. I'll post details later.

Flower For You

June 8, 08

This is an easy project that even the kids can do. These would make cute table decorations also or use them as hostess gifts or door prizes.

You are going to first select the designer paper you want to use. Cut it to 3 x 6 inches. Fold like an accordion. Score it at every 1/2 inch. Fold lightly in the center across the folds. Take the short end and glue or staple together. Repeat with the opposite end. Attach with a glue dot to the skewer.

Cut a circle the size of the top of the flower pot. Punch 2 pieces with the scallop punch. Put one on top of the circle with a hole cut in the center. Place a piece of florist's foam in the pot. Layer the large circle and scallop circle on top. Stick the skewer into the pot.

Cut a flower using the 5 Petal Flower Punch in a solid color. Cut a 1/2 inch circle using the 1/2 Circle Punch. Cut a hole in the center of each and attach together using the Build a Brad. Use a dab of glue and attach it to the top of the Build a Brad. Attach the clear top piece that comes with the build a brad. Use a glue dot to attach it to the flower.

Cut a 3 1/2 inch piece of Celery Ribbon. Tie it to the skewer for the leaves. Voila, you are done!

Uplifting Sassie Suzie

June 6, 08

Here is a card I designed for Stamp Camp and it uses Sassy Suzie from the Mini Catalog. This is a gift card as you will see in a minute. It was fun to make and I know just the friend I will be giving it to!

The saying in the card is " Your friendship is the most uplifting thing in my life without underwire".  You cut a scallop circle in half. The straps are made with a word punch. Tie a small bow in the center.

This week I will post some of the other stamp camp projects, we really had some great ones so come back to see what we did.

You're One of a Kind Card

June 1, 08

I saw this card at SCS by atomicbutterfly and has to CASE it. It uses my favorite designer paper which I am sure will be on the retired list coming out June 15th so I plan on stocking up with a few more packages of it. The flowers on the card are stamped in Pomegranate, cut out and then have a dab of chunky glitter in the center of each flower for a little bling.
