How to Apply Glitter with Heat and Stick Powder

August 18, 2008

I'm seeing pink elephants this morning. I was looking at my stamps and trying to decide which set to use this morning to show you how to use Heat and Stick Powder and apply glitter. Then I saw Wild About You and decided pink elephants would be perfect and then I could make a cute baby card this afternoon.

So to use heat and stick powder, you need: Heat and Stick Powder, Craft Ink or Classic Ink and Versamark, Stampin Up Glitter ( I used Dazzling Diamonds) and a Heat Gun.

You are going to stamp your image onto your cardstock. I used VersaMark and Classic Regal Rose. Sprinkle your image with the Heat and Stick Powder. Shake the excess powder into the powder pal so you can re-use it. Heat the image until it starts to melt and looks a little shiny.

You can see in the photo above the Heat and Stick is starting to melt on the head. Quickly when it is all melted, cover your image with the glitter. Heat your image briefly to set the glitter.

Note: If your Heat and Stick Powder starts to clump, put it in a baggie and shake it well.
