Liberty Card

Feb. 27, 08

I did my first challenge at SCS and the color combination was River Rock, Black and White. I had just gotten this new stamp set called The Free and The Brave and decided to use it. I really love the saying on the card.

Tag Fold Birthday Card

Feb. 26, 08

I made this card back in Jan. for my friend Becki. I was playing around and came up with this design. It was fun to do and a wonderful way to use the Delight in Life stamp set. I cut my paper lengthwise and folded the card in 4 equal sections. I notched the tops to make the card look like the tags that would be inserted into each pocket. I punched circles and folded them over to create the tag look. The pocket is 1/2 the size of the length of the card with an angle cut.

The B on the card was glittered and surrounded by chipboard hearts covered in DP. I used Pearls from the Pretties Kit and lots of ribbons. I made a pouch (laying in the background) to put the card in and decorated it to match the card. The best thing about using the Define Your Life stamp set was I could find the perfect words to tell my friend how wonderful I think she is!

I wish I could give you the exact dimensions for this card but I gave it to her already and actually forgot I hadn't uploaded it. I will be making another one and making it the March project of the month so they will be available next week with better details.

One More Card Today - This Time a Cute Baby Card

Feb. 23, 08

I saw this card a week ago on another blog with a great tutorial and just had to make it for a friend that had a baby a few weeks ago. Isn't it just too cute?

I used the Pink beads from Stampin Up around the neck and legs and I can tell you there were a bit tedious but oh so worth it. I found the tutorial here, done by Lauren Meader.

St. Patrick's Day Card More is Better

Feb. 23, 08

While I was stamping the St. Patrick's Day Card the other day, I stamped some extra image intending to do a more is more card. I think this picture shows the color better also. It was a gray day when I did the other photos. The crystal looking dots came from Michael's in the floral department. You can get a big bag of them for 3.99 if I remember correctly. They come in several colors including a color that matches pretty closely with Purely Pomegranate. The beer mug is from Cheers To You, a Stampin Up set only available overseas. It is such a cute set and why we can't sell it baffles me! Hopefully it will be in our next catalog.

3 New Cards Finally!

Feb. 22, 08

Sorry for the long time between posting, I had surgery at the beginning of the month and am now just getting back to normal. I have been working on a few cards the last couple of days to share with you. First is a heart card I made using the new Always Stamp Set. I really like this more than I thought I would. This would make a great Valentine card, I know it has passed but I think it would make a great Anniversary card also.

I stamped both hearts and the saying using Chocolate Chip Ink and Versamark and then embossed with Clear Emboss.

Stamp Set: Always
Other Items Used: Hodgepodge Kit, Clear Emboss, Pink Taffeta Ribbon, Brads, Corner Punch

My second card for you is a St. Patrick's Day card made using Pinch Proof, also a new stamp set from our new Stampin' Up catalog. I am going to remake this card later today and see what happens with a few more embellishments. The scallop tag is pop dotted up.

I stamped the leprechaun and the pinch proof tag with black ink and VersaMark and then embossed with clear emboss. The saying was embossed directly on the Certainly Celery DP and embossed.

My last card for you today is a birthday card I made for my friend's dear daughter. She is turning the big 13 and I really wish I had a stamp that said, "It's Just a Phase" because I could of really used it in making her card. Elizabeth is just delightful and it is such fun to watch this special young lady grow up.

The candles were stamped in Pretty in Pink on Spring Fling DP. The candles were stamped directly onto Shimmery White CS and then I applied Stickles to them when I decided they didn't have enough bling. I stamped the inside with a saying from It's Your Birthday, "Each and every year you grow you just become more fun to know!" I stamped the envelope using the Just B stamp set using "B is for Birthday".
