Baby Wipe Technique

October 6, 2008

My friends Kathi and Karen taught me how to do this technique about a month ago and it was so much fun. It is best done on glossy paper.

Supplies Needed:
4 - 5 Baby Wipes
Tray to work in
Reinkers
Glossy Paper
Throw away gloves

To start cut your paper to the size desired for the images you plan to use. Select your colors.

You can see in the photo I have folded the baby wiped into thirds. You want a thick pad to work with.

Ink the baby wipe on the edge with the ink with your colors.

Place the baby wipes at the edge of the paper and pull it across the paper. Be firm so that the baby wipe has good contact with your paper. Set it aside to dry. This will take about 5 minutes.

You can see here the results I got with the colors I used. This is So Saffron, Elegant Eggplant and Pumpkin Pie.

Here is what I did with the paper after it was dry. This is a Halloween Wheel called Haunting.

Another thing you can do instead of doing cardstock is to do images with a solid stamp. Using the reinkers you place drops of ink on the baby wipes. Using a solid stamp, press down firmly in the baby wipe and stamp on your paper. Experiment and have fun with this. The results will be different every time.

When you see the colors start to get muddy then you know you need to start all over with new baby wipes. You can get quite a few papers done depending on how heavy you have applied the ink.

Here is a card made with this technique. Halloween Card The card is about 2/3rds of the way down the page.
